Passive solar design using an acid-stained slab on the ground floor for mass. Walls of the bermed ground floor are made from the insulating concrete form Durisol. The upper level walls are AAC and finished with veneer plaster. Highlights: radiant infloor heat, solar water heating, whole house dehumidification and air filtering, passive radon mitigation, spiral staircase to an open loft, travertine limestone floor tile and granite kitchen counters. |
