Forbidden Color Tattoos has been providing the best of the art of tattooing to the Haywood County community for more than twenty years. Artist Johnny Lance became interested in the art of tattooing when he was in high school. His friends, teachers and family all recognized his drawing abilities from a very early age and encouraged him to nurture his talents.
He joined the U.S. Navy after high school and like many sailors received his first personal experience by receiving his own tattoo in Roanoak, Virginia.
Johnny spoke to the tattoo artist who did his first tattoo and he explained a lot about the art but Johnny had to put creativity on hold for awhile because of being shipped over seas. While in the Navy, Johnny got to observe the street art of tattoo artists in South America which helped expand his experience of the infinite possibilities of the art.
Johnny wants his clients to feel at home, have a great experience and to be completely satisfied. He takes what can be a painful experience and he and his staff are supportive during the whole creative process.
Our top priority is to keep our shop at the top level of cleanliness. All needles are one time use needles only. The autoclave is used to sterilize all instruments and Forbidden Tattoo’s studio is cleaned top to bottom every day to not only comply with State law but to also offer clients the cleanest studio possible.
Over 50 pieces of original artwork that Johnny created for former clients are on display. Theses are custom pieces of art and can never be used by another person; however, there are thousands of photos and designs available for you to choose from.
Johnny and Leejohn specialize in free hand artwork and can also work from photos. Privacy is available for private tattoos and piercing upon request.
The same care and level of cleanliness that Johnny and Leejohn provide their tattoo clients is also extended to their clients receiving piercings.
