Locally grown produceThis country produce store is well known to locals as not only having the freshest locally grown produce, but also because its owners are locally grown too. The Duckett family has been providing the Waynesville community, and much of Haywood County, with friendly service since Dibe Duckett’s grandfather’s time when he operated a local feed and service station back in the 1930s. Back in the day, Crabtree Road was just a small country road.

These days, Dibe and his wife Ashley and sons Clayton and Jack will help greet you along with mom, Ruby.

You will find fresh eggs, butter, cheese, and country ham in the refrigerated case.

Duckett’s Produce also sells homemade jams, jellies, salsa, honey, molasses and a local favorite called "Chow Chow."

There are apples, pears, strawberries, fresh flowers and hanging baskets. In the fall there are acres and acres of pumpkins to pick from. This is also "mum" season when chrysanthemums are available.

Fresh WatermelonCool refreshing cold watermelon and sweet corn grown by Dibe will help make your spring, summer and fall both healthy and tasty.

There are apples, pears, strawberries and much more!Beautiful Crabtree Creek quietly meanders out back of the store, and the State of North Carolina has proclaimed highway 209 as a Scenic Byway. If time allows, continue north on 209 to the village of Hot Springs, home of the historic mineral hot springs. There used to be a resort here where people came to "take the waters."

While the resort has become a memory, the hot water springs still run and you can rent a hot tub by the hour from the local concessionaire. Across the highway from the springs, there is a functioning modern campground where you can tent camp or park your RV.

Have a picnic lunch with the groceries you bought!

Duckett’s Produce is located on Highway 209 just six miles north of historic downtown Waynesville, and three miles north
Exit 24 off of I-40.

Open 10 to 6 Monday-Saturday, noon to 5 on Sunday.
